Multi-Touch Projected Capacitive Touch

Densitron's Ocular Crystal Touch: This line of projected capacitive touch panels give products a competitive advantage with its clean look and true multi-touch interface. Featuring an all glass construction, they provide maximum optical clarity, do not lose shape or deform over time and expand the lifespan of a product due to its increased durability. Made from capacitive glass, the all-glass construction provides a smooth surface that can withstand a wide range of temperatures: operating temperature ranges from -20° to 70°C and storage temperature is from -30° to 80°C. The all glass construction also provides a more durable product.

In addition to harsh environments, Crystal Touch panels are ruggedized and can handle abrasive cleaners, preventing any damage that may be caused if interaction with harsh chemicals occurs. This ultra-rugged panel is scratch resistant and can be an upgrade to products currently using a resistive touch interface or a single touch projected capacitive panel.

Projected Capacitive Coupling provided by Crystal Touch has a high resolution of 4096 x 4096, a fast sampling rate of 100 Hz, (10 ms per scan), auto calibration and is not restricted to just fingers; panels will also work with a tethered stylus.

Completely integrated display units are available combining these exceptional touch panels with our latest Industrial TFT displays.

Benefits:

  • Stands up abrasive cleaners
  • Scratch resistant
  • Maximal optical clarity
  • No deformations over time
  • No deformations due to temperature
  • Works with hands or stylus
  • High resolution
  • Fast sampling rate
  • Auto calibration

ITO Projected Capacitive Touch

NEW "Instrument Grade" Glass (PCT) Projected Capacitive Technology The  ITO metal film technology employed in our New DTS413 series sensors offer significant benefits to traditional users of resistive and surface capacitive technologies who wanted Projective Capacitive (PCT) technology in a 5.7" or smaller format.

Unlike the other touch technologies, the active Projected Capacitive Sensor component is behind the glass front cover lens for protection, providing a true durable 7 Mohs hardness glass front construction. It also offers unrivalled protection against a wide range of physical, mechanical and chemical abuse for demanding applications like hand held instrumentation , medical and electronic instruments  as well as premium consumer applications.

Summary of Benefits
 • Excellent readability - light transmission of up to 90%
 • Stability – no drift, therefore no recalibration is required
 • Pointing device – works with gloved finger
 • Activation force approaching 0 grams on the glass cover lens
 • Resistance to contamination – by harsh cleaning fluids noxious substances and
other

Supports
• Sizes from 3.2", 3.5", 4.3", 5.7" and 7.0"
(custom sizes and cover lenses also available)
• Operating systems supported – Windows 98SE, NT, ME, 2000, XP, XP-E, CE

4 Wire Resistive Touch Panels

4 Wire Resistive Touch Screens from Densitron transform a display into an interactive interface. By matching our standard displays with the technology of analog resistive touch screens we have developed innovative and integrated display interface products.

Film to Glass Technology

Where thicker and more stable backers are required, two flexible polyester films are used to create the touch sensor, which are then bonded to either glass, polycarbonate or acrylic depending on application. These other materials are suitable for environments where glass can be a problem, e.g., the food industry, or for use in vandal-proof products.

5 Wire Resistive Touch Panels

5 Wire Analogue Resistive Touch Panels
    • Drift free - repeated calibration unnecessary
    • Design structure is more durable than 4 wire resistive.

Glass on Glass Technology
The solid structure available in 5.7" is capable of providing high transmittance optical performance, resisting deterioration caused by UV illumination, withstanding high temperature and high humidity environments over a long period of time and has excellent material performance in anti-abrasion.

Surface Capacitive Touch Panels

Construction: Glass substrate with uniform conductive coating
Transmittance: Greater than/equal to 90 %, light transmission (w/o antiglare)
Haze: < 5 for clear untreated surface. (No anti glare)
Input Method: Finger activation (NOT gloved hand)
Available Size: 3. 5" ~ 12.1" (panels with customized aspect ratio is also available)
Life Time: Operationally tested to 200 million touches in one point without failure

 • Low activation pressure required  • Hard coating for scratch resistance
 • High touch resolution       • High clarity

A layer that can store an electrical charge is created on the glass panel. When a user touches the monitor with ungloved finger, a portion of the charge is transferred to the grounded user reducing the charge on the capacitive layer. The controller calculates, from the differences in charge at each corner and determines where the touch occurred.
